Movers & Makers Highlights Our Jungle Jim’s Partnership

A Loveland nonprofit that provides food and other assistance to hundreds of local families is partnering with Jungle Jim’s International Market to expand access to nutritious food and create a more welcoming experience for people facing food insecurity.

Impacting Tomorrow and Jungle Jim’s will celebrate the opening of “The Market at Impacting Tomorrow, proudly sponsored by Jungle Jim’s” on June 18 at the nonprofit’s campus in Loveland.

Founded by Ken and Libby Tracy, Impacting Tomorrow provides food, clothing, healthcare and other support services aimed at helping families achieve long-term stability. The organization currently serves more than 900 households each week through its food and clothing programs.

This new partnership includes ongoing food donations as well as financial support from Jungle Jim’s to help improve and sustain the nonprofit’s market. The investment included funding for renovations and upgrades intended to make the food assistance experience feel more like a traditional grocery store. The redesigned market includes improved signage, reorganized shopping areas, upgraded displays, expanded healthy food offerings and a children’s play area.

Financial figures weren’t made available.

“This is a model for what can happen when organizations move beyond transactional giving and instead collaborate around long-term community outcomes,” said Jim Bonaminio, founder of Jungle Jim’s. “We believe the future of community care is rooted in partnerships that create scalable and sustainable solutions for families. Of course, we wanted to start this movement by offering food to those in need.”

‘Food changes everything’

The upgraded market arrives as demand for services continues to grow. Impacting Tomorrow said it expects to serve about 200,000 guests this year through its market, boutique and healthcare programs, compared with roughly 125,000 people served last year.

Organization leaders said the redesigned market aims to remove some of the stigma that can come with seeking food assistance by creating a more inviting shopping experience.

They said they view the partnership as part of a larger community effort to tackle food insecurity through collaboration among nonprofits, businesses and other local institutions.

“At Impacting Tomorrow, we believe food changes everything,” Ken Tracy said. “Healthy food helps create healthier people, healthier families, and more stable communities. This partnership is about much more than food distribution.

“It’s about dignity, hope, reducing stress on families, and helping people move toward long-term stability.”
